On April 9, 2026, Professor Gong Yunyun from the University of Leeds visited the School of Food Science and Engineering at Jiangsu University. Present at the event were President Zou Xiaobo of Jiangsu University, Cui Yong, Director of the International Cooperation Office of Jiangsu University, Zhang Hongyin, Dean of the School of Food Science and Engineering, Zou Shijian, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office of Jiangsu University, Zhou Cunshan, Associate Dean of the School of Food Science and Engineering, along with over 40 undergraduate and graduate students from the school.
The cooperation negotiation meeting was held in Room 302 of the School of Food Science and Engineering and was chaired by Zhang Hongyin. President Zou Xiaobo of Jiangsu University, Paul Sharp, Dean of the School of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Leeds, Christine Bosch, Research Director of the School of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Leeds, and Professor Megan Povey from the School of Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Leeds participated in the meeting online. Zhang Hongyin first extended a warm welcome to all the experts and provided a brief introduction to the School of Food Science and Engineering. Cui Yong introduced the cooperation status between the two universities and proposed further intentions for cooperative education. Professor Gong Yunyun introduced the main research directions and curriculum system of the food discipline at the University of Leeds. President Zou Xiaobo highly recognized the cooperation achievements between the food disciplines of the two universities over the years. Subsequently, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as scientific research cooperation, teaching cooperation, and the establishment of joint educational institutions, and reached multiple cooperation intentions.
In the evening, a student information session on the joint training programs with the University of Leeds was held in Room 506 of Wenhua Building. The meeting was chaired by He Yufeng, the Foreign Affairs Secretary of the school. The session attracted many undergraduate and graduate students. Professor Gong Yunyun provided a detailed introduction to cooperative education programs such as "4+1", "3+1", and "1+1+1" to the students, covering aspects such as admission requirements, curriculum, and scholarship policies. Teachers and students on site actively asked questions, and Professor Gong Yunyun answered each one in detail.
This event has played a positive role in enhancing the internationalization level of the School of Food Science and Engineering and has further consolidated the communication platform and cooperation bridge between Jiangsu University and the University of Leeds.
